The movie "Kid Galahad" features just six
songs, so FTD's "The KID GALAHAD Sessions" gets
along with just two compact discs. As we know,
Sony's own collector's label exists in a 1990s
universe and isn't aware of fancy stuff like
streaming platforms. However, the boxed set
includes a stylish and informative booklet as
well as a 7" digipak with the sound carriers.
The design of the box once again is reminiscent
of an old tape box, so FTD returned to the old
format after having released the previous "The
ELVIS IS BACK! Sessions" with a photo-cover. By
the way, the boxed set we are talking about here
hit the market in 2020.
The audio was remastered by Vic Anesini, the
mixes were produced by Sebastian Jeansson. The
sound is excellent and easily surpasses the
previous remakes as released in 2007 (The
Complete Elvis Presley Masters) and 2016 (The
Album Collection). It's pretty safe to say, that
recordings from 1962 cannot sound any better
than they do here.
The set starts with the masters as released
on the
original extended player. Afterwards we get
to hear the every take in chronological order.

Verdict
Due to the limited number of songs the
set is comparatively repetitive, but that's
not FTD's fault. As usual the audio quality
is great and the packaging leaves nothing to
be desired.
