The final session for the "Girl Happy" soundtrack took place on June 15th between 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm. This was quite unusual for Elvis since he preferred to work at night.
I've Got To Find My Baby (music track take 2 / vocal overdub take 1)Elvis recorded two versions of his vocals, one in a higher and another one in a lower key. Here we get to hear the first, higher version.
Fort Lauderdale Chamber Of Commerce (music track take 7 / vocal overdub take 2)Here it took Elvis two attempts to sing over the previously recorded 7th take of the music/harmony vocals.
Startin' Tonight (music track take 3 / vocal overdub take 4)Elvis tried four times to sing over the music track.
Do The Clam (music track take 5 / vocal overdub take 2)The king sang over the music track twice. However, his harmony singers needed ten takes to get their parts on tape.
Startin' Tonight (music track take 3 / vocal overdub take 4)Just like "Girl Happy" this track was sped up. But this time thankfully before the harmony singers and Elvis himselvis put their voices over the music. Elvis tried four times to sing over the music track. The backup vocalists needed four takes to do so, their boss was done with the song within two attempts.
